With today's flights the ranking is completely changed. Today it was important to start immediately as soon as the starting line opened, so, there were good climbing values everywhere. Gliders who started the task later had to swich on the engine or to go for outlanding. Unfortunately several competitors entered in forbidden area. We are waiting all the files arrive in the scorer office and then the contest director will proceed to the awards ceremony. Clara

This morning at the briefing the contest director announced the awards ceremony for this evening at 8.00pm. Weather forecast are not as good as yesterday, it is expected light winds from the east that reaches 20 knots at high altitude. The cloud base is at 1400m and QNH is estimated at 1020. Right now we are beginning to form beautiful cumulus, but to the east they are congested

6th June - 7,30 pm
Only one outlanding in this beautiful day for gliding! There were cumulus and fumulus, some thermals were very weak, others were on average 1.5 m/s. Some gliders were at 1700m on the start line and even at the last turning point there were good values of climb that allowed easy and fast returns to the airport. As you can see from the photos, there were also 5 gliders that landed at the same time in the sunset: a beautiful show!

6th June - 4pm
Today at 2.00 pm takeoffs were finished, thanks to the competition’s organization and to the hard job of 7 towing planes that in one hour and a half, have always flown all the 70 gliders.

5th June
Today, June the 5th, gliders started again to fly in Ferrara’s competitions. There are about 15 outlandings because of the difficulties for dry thermals, especially in Ferrara's area, and because of the fast changing conditions. Instead, in the west and north zone of the task there were cumulus and climbing values around 2m/s. Clara

2 June - 10 pm
Today the sky was really beautiful, as we can see in the photos! Thermals were around 2 m/s with a ceiling at 1500, as announced. Almost all drivers returned to their houses and their jobs. They will be back to Ferrara for the weekend: the competition will be again on Friday 5th, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th. Today it was a real beautiful gliding day! Many pilots showed satisfaction about weather conditions. Thermals were up to 2 m/s. For some gliders, however, it was hard to complete the task! This is gliding: you have to be in the right place at the right time! ;-) Clara

Here is a photo of today's task of class Unica and Fly Pink: a real challenge! The expected weather conditions are better than yesterday with weak southerly wind and thermal activity without the presence of cumulus.
