Invitation for Flatland Cup 2012 (Szeged, Hungary)
Dear Friends of Gliding,
we are very happy to take this occasion to invite you to the newest chapter in the Flatland Cup series.
The short break that we took after organizing two World Gliding Championships is over, and we are ready to present you with the newest Flatland adventure. We gathered lots of experience in the past years, so our team is prepared to host an exceptional competition, with the aim to keep up with the standards of a Cat.1 competition in as many aspect as it is possible.
Those who have already soared in our region are familiar with the area’s safe outlanding possibilities, cloud bases above 2000 meters, lifts that often hit 4-5m/s and long days with perfect soaring conditions. In addition, several of our competitions ended up with 10k point for the winner, and there have been tasks of 750km flown in our championships.
We are constantly improving our facilities, and simplify our procedures, so this year you can expect a flawless gliding experience, with professional background work.
We are lucky to have the largest airfield in the southern territory, so we can safely host a competition up to 150 gliders. Our aim is to gather pilots from as many countries as possible, so different nations can compete each other, share experiences and trade ideas, while having a great but safe adventure.
Our beautiful city of Szeged is very pleasant, with much to see. Endless variations of Spa’s and restaurants, museums, theatres nearby are making the competition pleasant for crew and families, as well. (For further information on our city please visit: http://tip.szegedvaros.hu)
