Second day of racing

Day 2 (Sunday) tasked to fly
A task (3hr AAT) and an alternate (2hr AAT) has been set. The task and results will be available at http://www.soaringspot.com/ausclub2011/results/ Marshalling has been set to start at 1115 and completed by 1215. While the sky is blue, thermals are expected to be to about 4,000ft

Successful first flying day
Peter Temple came first in Sports Class. Terry Cubley came first in Club Class. Most aircraft made it around the task in a day in which the thermals softened towards the end of the day

Competition 2 hour AAT task launching 1330.
A two hour AAT has been set with Club Class launching first. While the Airfield has been very wet it is drying quickly. Griding is set for 1215 hours Good luck and fly safely

Competition Briefing delayed to 11.30
The briefing will be delayed to allow preparation of airfiel. There will be a task set for today!!

Pilots meeting 10.50 Friday (not 1300 as previously stated)
At the briefing this morning it was decided to hold the Pilots meeting earlier.It was decided to hold it 30 minutes after the end of the Morning briefing instead of 1300.

Friday weather is improving but no flying!
Friday 14th January - there is no flying to be tasked. There is rain today but conditions are improving Very strong winds are expected. There is a strong likelihood that the competition will be taked Saturday, provided the Airfield drains and drys sufficiently. Don't forget the pilots meeting at 1300 in the Clubhouse. Haiydn Dunn had a very hot Vindaloo in Benalla last night. He had sweat pouring down his face! An agenda item at the pilots meeting is to have Haiydyn reweighed before Saturday...

Pilots Meeting Friday 14 Jan at 1300
There will be a pilots meeting in the club rooms. There will be a number of issues discussed relating to future National Competitions in OZ. The minutes of the previous meeting, resulting actions and adgenda of the forth coming meeting are posted on the Competition notice board in the VGA club room. JUST BE THERE!! 1300 sharp

Day 3... Thursday competition Cancelled
While we are singing in the rain, we are not flying here. It is forecast for low cloud, rain increasing later and if there is Cu it is likely to be thunder storms. Allan Barnes has confirmed his car is out of the carpark in Brisbane. His unit is on the third floor so that is dry.His car keys are still in a taxi that may be floating around or near Brisbane River. There will be a briefing tomorrow morning (Friday) at 10am. Was it really an accident or on purpose?
The concerned wife of an Entrant in the Nationals noticed that our esteemed and valued Bar Manager's caravan was getting wet due to it's door being open. Doing that right thing, she locked the door. 30 minutes later heard a voice from said caravan, "Hello, Hello, is there anybody out there", coupled with some "rapping on the door from the inside".
