Today the competition has been opened. The pilots of the 20m and open classes, have been assigned an extremely original and articulated task (a total of 7 turning points), which seemed really exciting to most of the participants. The first fluffy clouds appeared in the sky around 11:30am. By 2:10pm all gliders had gone flying and the sky looked pretty much perfect for gliding. Although it didn’t take much to realize, that the conditions along the task, were worse than expected. Southbound a cheeky see breeze coming from the Adriatic see swept away most of the thermals, that had developed during the early afternoon (with bases up to 3200m). Some pilots, have also reported a few rain showers towards the northern end of the task. Most of the participants made it back safely to Airport, however due to the tricky wx conditions 10 gliders have performed an outlanding. Bye, Clara
